IRI Congratulates Research Achievements

The Informatics Research Institute (IRI) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette would like to congratulate its directors and colleagues on the recent Research Recognition Program for 2014-2016 hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Economic Development on November 17, 2016 at the LITE Center.
Dr. Henry Chu, Executive Director and Dr. Raju Gottumukkala, Director of Research received the Outstanding Achievement in Externally Funded Research awards during 2014-2016. Dr. Chu was also recognized for his service to the University Research Committee Institutional Review Board that provides insight necessary to support a well-rounded research program.
Dr. Vijay Raghavan, Alfred and Helen Lamson Endowed Professor in Computer Science and Center for Visual and Decision Informatics Director received the Research Excellence Award for demonstrating exceptional scholarship in the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences and the Innovator Award for developing technology with the potential for commercial success and economic development.
Dr. Christoph Borst, Associate Professor and Hardy Edmiston Endowed Professor in Computer Science II, Dr. Vijay Raghavan and Dr. Michael Dunaway, National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies Institute Director each received a Certificate of Achievement in Sponsored Research.
The Informatics Research Institute is comprised of the Center for Business and Information Technologies, the National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies Institute and the Center for Visual and Decision Informatics, a National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center. The centers focus on a range of research and development projects in business solutions for health care, disaster management, homeland security and big data sciences.
