The GOHSEP Academy welcomed Dr. Raju Gottumukkala, Director of Research at the Informatics Research Institute, who shared his AI expertise for the newest training session, ‘Leveraging AI for Emergency Managers'.

The 8-hour course covered the following topics:

-Introduction to AI
- Background and Understanding of Common AI Models
- AI for Situational Awareness and Communications
- Ethical Considerations and Challenges of AI
- The Future of AI in Emergency Management
- Integration into Existing Systems

This partnership with the NIMSAT Institute offers free local emergency management training classes at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The sessions take place at Abdalla Hall and are open to anyone interested in attending.
